Shu Uemura Nobara Cream Cover Stick Foundation and Shu Uemura Eye Light Pencil White
The holidays are around the corner; thus, the need for me to buy some foundation because of all the photo ops at the upcoming events, family gatherings, obligatory parties, etc. I don't really wear foundation unless I really need to. Most days I just wear tinted moisturizer and SPF and some days I don't wear a trace of make up at all. When I do wear foundation, I always have had one go-to brand over the years - Shu Uemura. Much as I love Chanel, YSL, and Laura Mercier, Shu Uemura has been my NUMBER ONE LOVE. Ever since I was introduced to the line back when I lived in Manila, I've been a Shu devotee. No matter what country/continent I travel to - may it be across Europe or the United States, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, etc. - I always try and find the local Shu Uemura atelier and get something to add to my collection.
Unfortunately (and fortunately for my wallet), I don't have a local boutique BUT recently, I found a small counter of Shu Uemura at a local Nordstrom! I rarely go shopping at Nordies but since they started carrying Shu, I now have to take a trip to Nordies to try and buy these goodies.
Last night, the hubby, our Coco, and I went to the not so nearby dog-friendly mall to buy her some treats and the hubby a new pair of Creative Recreation. I, on the other hand, raided the Shu Uemura counter as I needed (not just "wanted") a new foundation as my Velvet Perfecting Powder Foundation from Shu Uemura was running out (and getting old). Given that my skin has "aged" and "dried-out" because of the stupid weather in my state, I know I needed to go with a new formula. I've been reading about the recently released Nobara Cream Stick which has been getting astounding reviews from professional make-up artists. So knowing my shade (I have two which I play around with), I asked the lady at the counter to match me. My guess was a 764 but then I was matched as a 564 which is lighter. It perfectly blended in my skin though so I had no qualms. The coverage was perfect and it didn't feel like I had make-up at all. I had to get it!
I played around swatching the different eye shadows they had but I had to control myself from buying any since I think I might have most of it already or at least something close to the colors that I was attracted to. I did however end up buying the Eye Light Pencil White since I want to brighten up and make my eyes look bigger (because I feel they aren't big enough). It's also a new thing for me since I'm all about black eyeliner. A change here and there is nice to mix things up a bit! I really love this pencil as it has two ends - one matte (for the waterline) and a pearl finish (perfect for highlighting the inner eye). I can't wait to wear this out and try mixing it with some different eyeshadows/looks.
I also tried out the new Tsumori Chisato Limited Edition Rouge Unlimited Jupiter Brown. I loved how it looked and felt. I didn't go home with it BUT I ended up ordering it this morning from Shu Uemura's online shop and took advantage of the free shipping with any order of any product from the 2009 Holiday Collection Limited Edition (ends 11/04).
*Sorry for not posting any FOTDs because I'm currently growing out my eyebrows to get it reshaped and don't feel too comfortable taking a photo of my face.

Oh no! I want both!!! I've been looking for a good white pencil as the last one I bought was crap. And the foundation sounds great. I've used their fluid before. I'm currently on NARS but I think I'll go back to them for that stick!
I just finished working out with the white pencil on and some black eyeliner to test the longevity of this product and I must say - it passed! The white remained white (not gray) and on my waterline. I think it's a must-have. I've tried some white pencils before but they would bleed into the eyeshadow or fade within an hour or so. But this one just passed my "sweat" test!
GREAT MAKE UP POST, I ENJOU UR BLOG ALLOT!

^^I think you would fancy the smokey eye quad by Chanel - black, anthracite, silver, and white :)
What MAC foundation color are you? I've been trying to figure out my color for that foundation, but I don't live near a store that carries it, and I want to buy it online!
